A Short Love Story : the People of St. Andrews and Bobby Jones. Published by Privately Printed, Atlanta, Georgia, 1973, Atlanta Athletic Club.
Soft cover. Condition: Very Good. 18 pages. Bobby Jones was awarded the Freedom of the City by the Royal Borough of St. Andrews, Scotland. This booklet contains a summary of the ceremony, some notes on its significance and other remarks written by the Atlanta Athletic Club, where Bobby played golf out of for a long time. The book also contains the full remarks made that day (October 9, 1958) by Robert Leonard, Provost of St. Andrews and the full text of the speech given by Bobby Jones. It was during this speech that Jones made the famous remark, "I could take out of my life everything except my experiences at St. Andrews and I would still have a rich, full life."
To put the importance of the award in perspective, the only other American it has been conferred on is Benjamin Franklin.
