The first half of the book contains the writings of Alister Mackenzie and comprises 288 pages. These writings were previously published in various publications between 1915 and 1935, including The Dunlop Book, Golf Illustrated, Golfing and Golfdom magazines.
The second part of the book contains essays about Alister Mackenzie by Michael Clayton (an Australian golf course architect), Pedro Cossio (author of a book about the Mackenzie designed Jockey Club), Bob Davis (a golf writer from the 1930s), Mike DeVries (a golf course architect), Herb Graffis (A golf writer in the World Golf Hall of Fame), Bo Links (a golf writer and historian), Marion MacKenzie (Alister Mackenzie’s sister), Joshua Pettit (the book’s editor), Lorne Platt (a professor of Geography), Geoff Shackelford (author of multiple golf books including one about Cypress Point). and Gene Zanardi (Chairman of the MacKenzie Society Lido Competition). A handful were previously published, but most are new works.
The book is of very high quality and books about Mackenzie are sought after.
