Photograph of Charles Blair Macdonald outside of the National Golf Links clubhouse attached to front cover. This unique item would have only been given to attendees of this special early Walker Cup dinner.

Among the speakers were Charles Blair Macdonald and former New York State governor Alfred E. Smith. Very few copies of this publication were produced as there were only 10 members of the British Walker Cup team. This copy belonged to the 1936 British Amateur Champion Hector Thomson. The American Walker Cup team, captained by Francis Ouimet, handily beat the British team at Pine Valley 9-0-3. The dinner included Robbins Island Oysters, Black Bean Soup, Peconic Bay Scallops, Roast Duck, Lima Beans and Corn, and for desert Lemon Pie and Stilton cheese.

The event featured a lot of singing, in fact, over 23 songs are listed in the program beginning with the National Golf Links "overture." This was followed by the Star Spangled Banner and God Save the King and finishing with Auld Lang Syne. There is a song titled The Uncontrollable Twins - The Macdonald and the Judge, referring to founding member the Honorable Morgan J. O'Brien, who also spoke at the event.

A rare National Golf Links item and a memento from what sounded like a special event.
