Travers won the U.S. Amateur in 1907, 1908, in 1912 and in 1913 the year this book was published. He also won the U.S. Open at Baltusrol in 1915. A member of the world golf hall of game, Travers was born into an affluent New York family and lived until 1951. Contains 48 illustrations and is combination of biography and instructional book.
Books signed by Travers are among the rarest in the golfing library and one inscribed to President Harding, makes this an extra special copy. Harding was among the most avid golfers to occupy the Oval Office, playing two to three times a week. He established the Warren G.
